Upton A.A. 3 - 0 Blacon Youth Club (6:30pm)
West Cheshire Football Supply League affiliated to the Cheshire FA
This match was all one way traffic in the first half. An unnecessary tackle from behind by a Blacon Youth player in his own penalty area on an Upton A.A. player in the 19th minute when already one goal down did not help their cause.
The second half was more competitive, however, Upton A.A. had already done enough within the first 30 minutes.

Mike,
Do you ever fear for yourself when you start to book a few players? Do the players try and intimidate you? Must be a bit hairy at times.
Nope! The referee is very well protected. I have two assistant referees who would back up my report if anything were to happen.
The player(s) concerned would serve a very long ban and would receive a very large fine. Basically, it is not worth their while.
Although I may caution or even send off a player(s), I still give them respect in context of the duty I must perform.
Players will try and intimidate you - if you let them try. I always do my best to curb this early on.
You have to set your stall out early on in the game. If players think that they can get away with things, then they'll certainly try to do exactly that.
I've been refereeing for some 8 or 9 years now. I am at a semi-professional level. The players are also semi-professional and usually do not attempt to do those same silly things found on a Sunday morning football match between to pub sides. Thankfully!
